The Student Borrower Protection Center (SBPC) and Student Debt Crisis Center (SDCC) hosted a town hall event highlighting the experiences and struggles of public service workers’ accessing promised student loan forgiveness and why the Biden administration must take bold action to fix the broken Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The event included remarks from AFT President Randi Weingarten, a panel discussion with borrowers about their struggles accessing PSLF, and information for borrowers on managing their student loans.
For the first time ever, the U.S. Department of Education is asking for the public to share their stories about public service and debt forgiveness. Now is the time to call for the government to keep its promise to public service workers!
