SBPC and NCLC Demand Washington Stand Up for Millions of Student Loan Borrowers Struggling Without Relief During COVID

In a letter to Acting Secretary of Education Philip Rosenfelt, the SBPC and the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) urged immediate action to assist millions of student loan borrowers who have not been offered federal student loan assistance during COVID.

The organizations highlight the ongoing lack of relief during the pandemic for millions of federal student loan borrowers owing on so-called “commercial FFELP” loans and call on the Department of Education to immediately remedy issues past and present that have unduly harmed these borrowers.
