September 30, 2021 | WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm current FTC Commissioner Rohit Chopra to be the next Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
In response, Student Borrower Protection Center Executive Director Seth Frotman issued the following statement:
“This is an important step forward for the nation’s consumer financial watchdog and a big win for American families. In recent months, the Bureau has taken significant steps to improve the consumer financial marketplace. With Rohit at the helm, the agency will work tirelessly to ensure the needs of borrowers are at the forefront. We look forward to working with Director Chopra to protect our nation’s student loan borrowers.”
